A monocular compound field microscope constructed from cast alloy with a characteristic grey hammered enamel finish. The instrument features a pivoting arm and a horseshoe-style base, equipped with a rotating triple nosepiece and a rack and pinion focusing mechanism. It is accompanied by several accessories including interchangeable eyepieces, an adjustable sub-stage mirror, a metal lens canister, and a selection of glass slides. The kit includes four small reagent vials with printed adhesive labels reading EOSIN, ALCOHOL, XYLENE, and GUM. The entire set is housed within a fitted polystyrene insert inside a mahogany-coloured hardwood case, featuring finger-jointed corners and a polished metal clasp. The microscope neck is partially wrapped in protective tissue. No manufacturer names are legible on the body of the instrument.
