A late Victorian? style dressing table mirror constructed from cast brass. The oval mirror frame is decorated with a repeating embossed geometric border and is set within two scrolling arms. These supports are topped with decorative turned finials and are joined by a curved stretcher, allowing the mirror plate to tilt for adjustment. The frame is mounted upon an ornate pedestal stand featuring openwork scrollwork and foliate motifs, leading down to a circular weighted foot. The base is finished with an embossed border that matches the mirror frame. The brass surfaces exhibit a dark, aged patina throughout, with heavier tarnish visible in the deeper recesses of the cast decoration. The mirror glass is held in place by a closed metal back. There are no maker’s marks or inscriptions visible on the piece.
