A Neoclassical style decorative pedestal or lamp base constructed from moulded resin with a bronzed and aged stone finish. The figural stem features two winged female figures dressed in flowing classical drapery; one figure is depicted holding a bouquet of roses, while the other is positioned in a reclining, contemplative pose. The figures support an ornate, fluted upper bowl or capital characterised by a scalloped rim and relief floral decorations. The assembly is mounted upon a circular, stepped base. The interior of the bowl contains a yellow adhesive label bearing the printed digits 5174. The piece appears designed to support a globe or glass bowl insert, which is now absent.
