A pair of non-firing decorative holster pistols of substantial proportions, designed for display. Each piece features a long smooth-bore barrel rendered in a polished gilt-metal effect finish, secured to the stock by a single brass-tone band. The stocks are constructed from a dark-stained wood? resin? material, featuring extensive relief carving throughout the grip and forend depicting scrolling foliate and floral motifs. The flintlock-style mechanisms are purely decorative and feature zoomorphic cocks cast in the form of stylized dragons or serpents. The trigger guards are finished in a matching gilt-metal effect with central decorative finials. These items were manufactured for theatrical or interior decor purposes and do not possess functional mechanical components.
