A pair of Royal Worcester fine bone china figurines designed by Freda Doughty, both featuring a high-gloss magenta-coloured glaze. The first figure, ‘The Parakeet’ (model 3087), depicts a young boy in a magenta suit with white ruffles at the neck and cuffs, supporting a grey and yellow bird on his right arm. He stands upon a mottled, rocky-style base. The second figure, titled ‘Grandmother’s Dress’?, portrays a young girl with blonde hair wearing a voluminous magenta gown with a matching hood and white trim at the collar. The underside of the boy figurine bears a printed black circular mark reading ‘F.G. DOUGHTY’ above the Royal Worcester interlaced W logo, which contains the number ’51’ within a circle. The mark further states ‘ROYAL WORCESTER FINE BONE CHINA ENGLAND’, ‘THE PARAKEET’, and the model number ‘3087’. A small blue ‘x’ is painted by hand to the base.
