Two Chinese themed decorative items. The first is an oil painting on textured board depicting a female musician in traditional Hanfu-style dress. The figure is shown in profile, reclining against a dark background while playing a slender wind instrument. She is dressed in a coral-toned robe featuring embroidered yellow and blue borders with floral motifs. The second item is a contemporary four-sided table lamp. The lamp features a parchment-effect shade laced with white cord to a metal frame, terminating in four ball feet. One panel of the shade is decorated with black calligraphic characters. The large central character is ‘誠’ (Chéng), accompanied by a column of script reading ‘嚴以律己 寬以待人’ and smaller text ‘書林坊’. The shade bears three red seal marks: an oval seal to the upper left and two square seals to the lower right, though the characters within are not clearly legible. The lamp is fitted with a black power cord and a 3-pin UK mains plug.
