The central scene depicts a pastoral Italianate landscape with classical ruins and figures, framed by a dense floral and scroll border that extends across the shoulders and the scrolled terminals of the handle. The handle is designed with a central white gadrooned grip for handling. The base bears a black printed mark reading Spode, ENGLAND, ITALIAN, SPODE DESIGN, C.1816 M, alongside an impressed mark reading M 2.
