A limited edition glazed earthenware novelty teapot and associated accessories produced by Cardew Design. The main vessel is modelled as a traditional horse-drawn delivery van, featuring a black body with a vibrant yellow roof that serves as the removable lid, surmounted by a basket-form finial containing miniature packages. The exterior is richly decorated with three-dimensional elements including miniature teacups, saucers, a teapot, and various crates of Ringtons tea and coffee. The body features gilt-metal effect lettering reading ‘RINGTONS TEA’ and ‘VAN DELIVERIES TO ALL PARTS’. The base bears printed gold-toned marks featuring a horse and cart logo and the text ‘RINGTONS A FAMILY BUSINESS EST. 1907’ above ‘THE TEA MERCHANT TEAPOT Hand crafted by Cardew Design Exclusively for Ringtons Limited’. It is further marked with a limited edition number ‘No. 3114 / 7,500’ and a handwritten gold-toned signature ‘P Cardew’. The set includes a separate lidded sugar bowl in the form of a tea chest and a small ceramic sack reading ‘RINGTONS COFFEE BEANS’.
