A white metal cape or sweater clip of traditional filigree construction. The piece comprises two circular medallions, each featuring a central raised rosette motif with a gilt metal effect wash. These central elements are surrounded by an intricate openwork lattice and a scrolling foliate border. The medallions are connected by a double-link curb chain. The reverse of each medallion is fitted with a hinged pressure clip decorated with foliate engraving. A stamped mark is visible on the reverse of a hanging tab on each medallion, which is an impressed rectangular cartouche containing the characters 850. The piece shows a dark patinated finish throughout, particularly in the recessed areas of the filigree work.
