A Smiths automotive dashboard clock featuring a transistorised movement, likely dating from the 1960s. The instrument is housed in a cylindrical metal casing with a bright chrome-plated bezel and a glass face. The black dial is marked with white hour batons and Arabic numerals at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions. The face is vertically inscribed TRANSISTOR at the top and SMITHS below the central hand spindle. The reverse of the housing is stamped with the serial numbers 308 324 01 and CTJ 3100 00. Further markings to the rear include a cursive JAEGER stamp within a decorative border and 12V. An additional green adhesive label is present, inscribed 12V. The unit is fitted with a single spade connector terminal and a red insulated power lead. The clock is accompanied by a printed instruction sheet and its original cardboard storage box.
