A collection of vintage lithographed advertising tins and household items, predominantly of British manufacture. The group includes a large cylindrical Cadbury? tin featuring a finial lid and a printed illustration of a woman pouring milk, with the word CADBURY? visible at the base of the scene. Also present is a large square red tin with a central black panel depicting a cherub in a chariot, and a round Peter Pan? biscuits tin featuring a dog and the text PETER Biscuits. The lot contains several medicinal tins, including three Meggezones tins of varying sizes, one transcribed as MEGGEZONES REG FOR COUGHS COLDS CATARRH 1/8 INCLUDING PURCHASE TAX, and another marked 1/6. Two Elastoplast tins are included, one being a red and blue Airstrip variety transcribed as Elastoplast Airstrip waterproof plasters that let wounds breathe NEW AND IMPROVED. Further items include a small cylindrical tin reading BILE BEANS THE GENUINE A RELIABLE CORRECTIVE FOR CONSTIPATION LIVER & STOMACH DISORDERS PURELY VEGETABLE, a round Dobie’s Mixture tin marked Dobie’s Mixture No. 7 BLEND MEDIUM STRENGTH, and a cream-coloured rectangular tin printed with PARKINSON’S ESTD 1817 DONCASTER. A small amber glass jar with a green plastic lid is marked Vick VAPOUR-RUB USE IN STEAM. The collection is completed by a Fisco Uni-Matic? plastic tape measure casing, a set of red plastic sans-serif letters, and several other small pictorial and decorative tins.
