An Art Deco style mantel clock featuring a solid oak drum-shaped case mounted upon a stepped plinth base. The wooden dial is applied with white-finished Arabic numerals and a concentric inner ring, set behind a chrome-plated bezel. The movement is accessed via a removable circular wooden back panel, revealing a mechanical assembly with a balance wheel and hairspring escapement. Two brass presentation plaques are affixed to the front plinth. The left plaque is inscribed PRESENTED TO Q.R.M.S. WILCOCK BY MEMBERS OF THE SGTS’ MESS. The right plaque reads 1ST BN THE WEST YORKSHIRE REGT AS A MEMENTO FOR SERVICES RENDERED. The hands are chrome-plated, comprising a broad hour hand and a slender minute hand, with a single winding arbor located at the six o’clock position.
