A collection of British Second World War campaign and service awards comprising two 1939-1945 Stars, two Defence Medals, and an unofficial commemorative medal. The two 1939-1945 Stars are of bronze six-pointed construction with the Royal Cipher GRI VI surmounted by a crown to the centre, within a circular border reading THE 1939 – 1945 STAR. One star retains a multi-coloured silk ribbon. The two cupro-nickel Defence Medals feature the bareheaded effigy of King George VI facing left, with the circumscription GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP. The reverse depicts two lions flanking an oak tree beneath a crown, with the dates 1939 and 1945 and the text THE DEFENCE MEDAL. Both service medals lack suspension ribbons. Included is a white metal commemorative medal for the Battle for Britain 1939-1945, depicting St Paul’s Cathedral during the Blitz on the obverse and the floral emblems of the United Kingdom on the reverse with the text BATTLE 1939 – 1945 FOR BRITAIN, mounted on a green, blue, and red striped ribbon with a pin-back clasp.
