Two vintage British fire service cap badges. The first is a National Fire Service (NFS) cap badge, likely dating from the Second World War period (1941-1948). The badge is constructed from white metal in the form of an eight-pointed star, surmounted by a Tudor style King’s Crown. The central circular boss is finished with a textured, hatched ground and features a central red enamelled letter F flanked by two smaller letters N and S. The reverse retains two copper-toned fixing lugs. The second item is a Lancashire County Fire Brigade cap badge, constructed from chrome-plated white metal in a multi-rayed star pattern. The centre features a blue enamel circular band containing the uppercase inscription LANCASHIRE COUNTY FIRE BRIGADE. Within this band is a central crest depicting a shield supported by two lions rampant, with a helm and floral motifs above.
