A Victorian percussion cap muzzleloading carbine of British military pattern. The firearm is constructed with a full-length wooden stock featuring a polished finish and a prominent grain. The lock plate is composed of patinated steel, featuring an engraved crown symbol above the cypher VR and the word TOWER at the rear. The round barrel, measuring approximately 53 cm, is secured to the stock by pins and shows significant surface oxidation. The furniture is of brass, including the trigger guard, side plate, butt plate, and three ramrod pipes which house a brass-tipped steel ramrod. Sling swivels are fitted to the forestock and trigger guard. Markings on the lock plate include VR under a crown and TOWER. A small crown and additional indistinct marks are present on the upper breech of the barrel. As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
