A British Art Deco earthenware jug of tapering, globular form with a wide trumpet-shaped neck and a pedestal foot. The vessel features a single scroll handle attached at the neck and shoulder. The exterior decoration employs a textured sgraffito technique, with the upper portion and handle finished in a dark metallic, gunmetal-grey glaze with a drip-like transition into the body. The bulbous lower section and foot are decorated with horizontal blue and white stripes, separated by dark incised lines. The underside of the base bears a gilded mark in cursive script reading ‘Sandyford Ware’ above the word ‘FANTASY’.
