A bronzed globular pot of asymmetrical, organic form, likely intended for use as an inkwell or decorative vessel. The piece is cast with a naturalistic lizard? or gecko? rendered in high relief, which wraps its body around the shoulder and side of the vessel. The reptile is finely detailed with cross-hatched scales, prominent almond-shaped eyes, and spread digits. The pot features a wide, rounded aperture with a slightly raised rim and is finished in a dark brown patinated surface with warmer copper tones visible on the raised elements. The base and interior show a matte, textured finish consistent with casting. A visible seam or hairline fissure is present near the lizard’s tail.
