A 9 carat gold locket pendant of oval form featuring an intricate engraved foliate design. The front face is decorated with scrolling leaf motifs and stippled patterns within a raised, textured border. The internal section is smooth and bears a full set of British hallmarks. These marks comprise the maker’s mark RWW in a rectangular cartouche, the fineness mark 375 for 9 carat gold, the anchor symbol for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter q for 1965. The piece is fitted with a fixed bale and two suspension rings, with a visible hinge to the top and a thumb-piece at the base for opening.
