A collection of mid-century tea and breakfast wares constructed from a dark brown thermosetting plastic, likely phenolic / bakelite resin? with a mottled finish. The set includes a large coffee cup and matching saucers featuring a distinctive multi-coloured confetti or splatter effect, achieved by incorporating fragments of red, yellow, blue, and white plastic into the base resin. The cup is designed with a characteristic angular handle featuring a circular cutout. Also included is a group of egg cups in a marbled dark brown resin, each featuring a rounded bowl supported by three tapering peg feet. The set is completed by a circular tray with two integrated tab handles in a matching marbled brown finish. The base of the pieces lacks readable manufacturer marks; however, the confetti decoration and form are characteristic of early British plastic housewares.
