A pair of heavy cast brass candlesticks of Queen Anne? / Early Georgian? style. Each candlestick features a multi-knotted baluster stem with a sequence of circular rings and prominent bulbous knops. The stems support slightly flared circular nozzles and terminate in stepped, octagonal chamfered bases. The construction appears to be sand-cast in sections and joined, typical of 18th-century metalware designs. The brass exhibits a naturally aged, mellow yellow tone with areas of oxidation and darkening within the recessed rings.
Height: 25 cm.
