A collection of Japanese ceramic tableware comprising two distinct decorative groups. The first group consists of plates executed in the Imari palette of underglaze cobalt blue, iron-red enamel, and gilt-metal effect highlights. The central circular medallions feature a landscape scene with a crane (tsuru) standing by a stream beneath a pine tree (matsu), surrounded by a border of geometric diaper panels and floral reserves. The second group is a blue and white transfer-printed service featuring a dark indigo floral pattern, possibly cherry or plum blossoms. This set includes a large shallow charger, a medium bowl, multiple saucers, and several two-handled bouillon cups. The charger and larger bowl feature central figural scenes within a traditional landscape. The bouillon cups are decorated with a central floral motif to the interior and a repeating floral band to the exterior. The plates in the Imari group are fitted with wire wall hangers. No legible maker’s marks or signatures are present.
