An assortment of vintage paper goods and ephemera primarily relating to the Doncaster area of South Yorkshire. The group includes a light green printed programme for the Dunsville First Annual Children’s Sports, held at Wyndthorpe Park on Saturday, August 8th 1931, priced at ‘TWOPENCE EACH’ with the printer’s credit ‘WRIGLEY & SON, PRINTERS, THORNE’ to the lower right. Also present is a cream-coloured paper programme for the Doncaster Grammar School Commemoration Service 1350 – 1950, featuring the school crest and the motto ‘CONFIDE RECTE AGENS’. The collection contains a small brown cloth-bound booklet titled ‘INSTRUCTIONS ON THE JUBILEE & Co.’ in gold block lettering. Industrial history is represented by a British Bemberg Limited document fragment featuring a stylized eagle device and a listing of directors including ‘F. BLUETHGEN (GERMAN)’, and a letterhead for The Pilkington Recreation Club, Kirk Sandall, near Doncaster, bearing the telegrams and cables address ‘BEMBERG, DONCASTER’. A portion of a masthead from The Times newspaper is also included, showing the Royal Coat of Arms and a handwritten margin note reading ‘Hutman?’.
