A pair of vintage industrial utility bags, constructed from heavy-grained brown leather with a tapered profile. The bags feature a drawstring closure at the narrow top, secured with a simple cord. The front of each bag is stenciled with black lettering reading LNER, referring to the London and North Eastern Railway. Below this, a strip of leather is applied and stamped with the text CARR LOCO, likely denoting the Carriage and Locomotive department, and the numeral 5. The construction consists of two leather panels stitched together along the perimeter with heavy industrial thread. The leather exhibits a dark, patinated finish with surface abrasions and creasing consistent with railway use. These items were traditionally used for the transport of wages, documents, or small parts within the railway infrastructure.
