A heavy-duty belt buckle of oval, scalloped form, cast in pewter? with a textured finish. The central relief motif depicts three figures in profiles? wearing traditional Native American style dress, flanked by a vertical banner featuring stylized calligraphic markings. This central scene is enclosed within a geometric, stepped border inlaid with red, purple, and turquoise-coloured cold-painted enamel? / resin. The reverse is fitted with a sturdy metal swing-loop and a fixed prong mechanism. Several cast marks are present on the reverse: a circular emblem depicting an eagle with the text THE GREAT AMERICAN BUCKLE USA, a small rectangular plate reading (C) 1996 GAP, a larger plate reading SOLID FINE PEWTER, and a final plate at the base bearing the number 4278.
