Two items of early 20th-century jewellery. The first is a West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s Own) sweetheart bar brooch. It features a central insignia of the White Horse of Hanover in gilt-metal effect mounted above a blue enamel scroll inscribed WEST YORKSHIRE. The emblem is fixed to a plain, tapered bar with a simple pin and C-clasp to the reverse. The second item is a silver bar brooch featuring two Netherlands 10-cent coins (dubbeltjes). The coins depict the profile of Queen Wilhelmina and are inscribed WILHELMINA KONINGIN DER NEDERLANDEN. The reverse of the mounting bar bears four punched hallmarks in rectangular shields: a maker’s mark (partially obscured), the Lion Passant, an anchor for the Birmingham assay office, and a date letter appearing to be a lowercase v?.
