A late 20th-century torchere? / plant stand? constructed from a mahogany-stained hardwood? with a polished finish. The stand features a circular solid wood top with a double-beaded moulded edge, supported by three slender barley-twist turned legs. These legs are embellished with carved foliate scroll motifs at the upper terminals where they join the apron. The tripod base is braced by a lower circular undershelf and terminates in out-swept cabriole style feet. The piece exhibits traditional construction with turned and carved decorative elements throughout.
Height: approximately 90 cm.
