An Art Deco grandmother clock featuring a walnut? veneered case of stepped architectural form. The trunk is decorated with a carved three-bar vertical motif above a stepped plinth base. The circular dial is protected by a chrome-plated bezel with domed glass, opening to reveal a silvered chapter ring with black Arabic numerals and starburst intervals. The wood-grained dial centre features three winding apertures and is marked Bentima above the twelve o’clock position. The lower edge of the chapter ring is marked MADE IN ENGLAND, and a chime selector lever at the three o’clock position is marked CHIME SILENT. The movement is a mechanical spring-driven three-train type, likely featuring a Westminster chime. The clock is fitted with pierced blackened steel hands.
