A philatelic collection comprising a green cloth-bound commemorative album and several loose postal covers. The album features a patterned cover with a blue crest and is titled to the interior in black and red Gothic script The Colonial & Dominion Postage Stamps ISSUED TO COMMEMORATE THE Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II JUNE 2ND 1953. The interior contains hinged mint? and used? stamps including Aden 15c issues and a page of Kuwait overprints on Great Britain Coronation stamps in 1 1/2a, 2a, and 4a denominations. The accompanying loose postal history includes 1937 Coronation First Day Covers for King George VI. One cover from the Cayman Islands bears a set of three stamps and is addressed in blue manuscript to Philatelic Department, Selfridge & Company Ltd., London W1. A further cover from Antigua is addressed to J. D. Harris & Co. in Birmingham and exhibits circular date stamps for ST. JOHNS ANTIGUA dated MY 12 37. Additional covers include registered issues from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and Rabaul. The album spine is marked with a yellow adhesive label reading 6525.
