A Second World War period British military steel helmet of the Mark II pattern, featuring the characteristic broad-rimmed soup plate silhouette. The shell is constructed from manganese steel with a non-magnetic rim and shows evidence of a textured khaki or brown paint finish beneath significant surface oxidation. The interior is fitted with a partial Mark II liner system, comprising a black oilskin headband supported by rubber buffers. A central securing bolt and nut assembly at the crown holds the liner in place against a circular protective felt pad. The helmet retains its sprung webbing chinstrap, consisting of a canvas covering over internal metal springs, which is a standard feature of mid-to-late war British production. The exterior crown features a circular metal securing bolt with a central indentation, though no legible maker marks or dates are discernible due to heavy corrosion.
