A trio of Sadler earthenware? novelty teapots from the Edwardian Entertainments series. Each vessel is designed with a barrel-shaped body, a scrolled handle and spout, and a conical lid modelled as a circus tent top. The set is decorated with vibrant transfer-printed scenes depicting traditional fairground amusements, including the Circus pattern featuring a ringmaster, clowns, and performing animals; a Carousel pattern showing merry-go-round horses; and a Band Stand pattern depicting musicians in military-style dress. The lids are finished with alternating vertical stripes in red and green, red and yellow, and red and blue respectively, each topped with a gilt-effect finial. The transfer decoration is further embellished with gilt-effect scrollwork to the rims and handles. The underside of each base is marked with a black printed device featuring a crown over a ribbon reading SADLER, with the script series title Edwardian Entertainments, pattern names Circus, Carousel, or Band Stand, and the location STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND. Two pieces additionally bear a hand-painted gilt-effect number 4499? and all three feature a printed letter W.
