A Rococo-Revival style? three-tier plant stand or display étagère constructed from cast brass? components. The stand features three circular graduated shelves, each decorated with intricate pierced scrollwork and foliate borders. The central panel of each tier depicts a detailed embossed motif of a long-tailed bird, described as a peacock?, within a naturalistic setting. The shelves are mounted on three vertical rods with decorative turned collars and finished with spherical ball finials. The whole is supported by three out-swept, scrolled legs featuring acanthus leaf detailing at the shoulders. The metal surfaces display a natural aged patina with visible oxidation and tarnish within the cast ornamentation.
