A collection of sterling silver sewing and stationery accessories featuring two thimbles, a small dish, and two tool handles. One thimble by Charles Horner? is decorated with a star-burst pattern to the crown and a geometric frieze around the band, bearing the punched initials C H, a lion passant, the Chester assay mark of three wheat sheaves and a sword, and the date letter n for 1913. The second thimble features a honeycomb dimpled pattern and a scrolling foliate band, stamped with a lion passant, the Birmingham anchor, and the date letter j for 1908. A small circular dish? / salt cellar? with a flared rim bears the marks B, B and a lion passant. Two tapering octagonal handles, one fitted with a pointed steel blade? functioning as an ink eraser, are similarly stamped with the characters B, B and a lion passant. The silver surfaces exhibit varying degrees of natural oxidation and tarnish, particularly to the tool handles.
