A commemorative presentation frame containing a group of British pre-decimal coins dated 1963. The collection is presented reverse-side up and comprises a white metal sixpence, a nickel-brass threepence, a bronze penny, and a bronze halfpenny. The sixpence is decorated with the floral emblems of the United Kingdom, including the rose, thistle, shamrock, and leek, with the legend FID DEF SIX PENCE 1963. The twelve-sided threepence features a crowned portcullis with the legend THREE PENCE 1963. The penny depicts a seated figure of Britannia with a trident and shield, captioned ONE PENNY 1963, and the halfpenny shows the sailing ship Golden Hind with the legend HALF PENNY 1963. The coins are set within a dark blue and red card mount featuring gilt-metal effect borders and a gold-toned plaque printed with 1963 beneath the text A SPECIAL YEAR A collection of coins minted in. The dark wood? frame features a gilt-metal effect inner slip. The bottom right corner of the mount is printed with the mark (C) COINAGE, DE4 3NS. 2005.
