A trio of ceramic vases of baluster-shaped form, featuring flared and scalloped rims. Each vessel is decorated in the classic Blue Italian pattern, utilizing an underglaze blue transfer-printing technique. The central decoration depicts a detailed Italianate pastoral landscape including ancient ruins, a large castle, and figures tending to cattle. This central scene is framed by a dense floral and scrollwork border that extends around the rim and shoulder of each vase. The base of at least one vase bears a printed mark in black reading Spode, MADE IN, ENGLAND, ITALIAN, SPODE DESIGN, C. 1816. V.
