A pair of decorative oversized wall-hanging utensils, consisting of a spoon and a four-tined fork. Each piece is hand-carved from a single section of dark-stained hardwood, likely monkey pod wood?. The handles feature intricate, stacked anthropomorphic figures in a seated posture, characteristic of Philippine? folk art traditions such as those of the Ifugao or Igorot peoples. These figures are rendered in a stylised manner with defined limbs and facial features, arranged in a vertical sequence. The utensils are finished with a dark brown stain and a semi-gloss coating. A single circular hole is drilled through the terminal of each handle to facilitate wall mounting. The carving shows some exposure of the lighter natural wood on the raised edges where the stain has worn away through use and age.
