A collection of UK one shilling coins dating from the mid-20th century. The group includes issues featuring the obverse portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse designs represent various heraldic motifs, including the English lion standing upon a crown, the Scottish lion rampant, and the four shields of the United Kingdom arranged in a cruciform pattern with the inscriptions ONE SHILLING and FID DEF. The coins are composed of silver-coloured metal, consisting of both pre-1947 50 percent silver issues and post-1947 cupro-nickel examples. The collection is organized within five plastic collector sheets. These sheets contain various labels, including handwritten paper inserts reading NONE MINTED and NO 1952 MINTED, as well as small white labels with the printed number 1225. The sheets are held together or repaired with yellowed adhesive tape.
