An assortment of vintage toggle-back cufflinks. One pair is constructed with circular settings housing high-relief polychrome porcelain? plaques. These depict a bearded elder, likely the deity Shoulao?, in traditional robes holding a staff and a green element featuring the gold-painted character ‘壽’. The toggle mechanisms are stamped ‘SWANK’ . The second pair consists of oval gilt-metal effect? frames with openwork scrolling borders, containing miniature printed reproductions after Thomas Gainsborough’s ‘The Blue Boy’ under clear cabochons.
