The piece is decorated in a traditional Imari pattern, featuring a palette of cobalt blue and iron red with extensive 22 carat gold gilded accents. The decorative scheme consists of stylized overlapping feathers and foliate motifs. The cat’s facial features include gold-painted eyes and whiskers. The base is fitted with a gold-toned metal stopper embossed with the words Royal Crown Derby and English Bone China surrounding the factory crown and monogrammed D logo. The underside of the white glazed base features hand-painted marks including a purple crescent and a gold stylized arrow.
