A German mantel clock produced by the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC/HAU) during the early to mid-20th century. The clock is designed in the Napoleon hat or tambour style, featuring a dark-toned hardwood case with a prominent curved cresting above the central dial. The base consists of a rectangular plinth with a decorative carved frieze depicting swags and urns, set between reeded panels and resting on four bracket feet. The circular silvered metal dial is set with black Arabic numerals, a peripheral minute track, and two winding arbors. It is fitted with pierced black steel hands and a hinged, brass-rimmed glass bezel. The interior contains a mechanical, spring-driven, twin-train strike movement. The movement backplate bears the stamped trademark of two crossed arrows associated with HAC, alongside the number 15. The mechanism includes a decorative cast-iron gong block designed to strike on a coiled wire gong.
