This Arts and Crafts period fireplace fender is constructed from hand-hammered copper sheet formed over a concealed internal frame. The three-sided curb features embossed repousse decoration depicting a repeating motif of stylised lotus flowers and lily pads in relief. The construction is finished with visible pinning at the mitred corners. The copper surface exhibits a deep aged patina throughout.
