A hand-blown studio glass sculpture by Mdina Glass, Malta, depicting a stylised fish. The piece is produced using the sommerso technique, where vibrant internal swirls of cobalt blue, amethyst purple, and sea green are encased within a thick layer of clear glass. The design is characteristic of the studio’s Fish series, featuring a heavy sculptural body with a tapered mouth and a swept-back dorsal fin. The sculpture is mounted on an integral clear circular glass base. A clear adhesive factory label is adhered to the body, displaying the company logo consisting of a tower and Maltese cross, with the text MDINA GLASS MALTA. Small air bubbles, known as seeds, are present within the glass, inherent to the hand-blowing process.
