A studio glass vase of tall cylindrical sleeve form produced by Mdina Glass. The vessel is constructed from heavy, hand-blown glass with a deep amethyst body that appears black under normal lighting conditions. The lower portion of the vase features internal decoration comprising swirled and pulled glass trails in shades of cobalt blue, ochre, and grey-gold, encased within the thick-walled glass. The body bears the original rectangular white paper factory label featuring the maker’s name and a stylized Maltese cross logo.
