He is depicted wearing a black Homburg hat, which forms the spout of the jug, and is shown smoking a cigar while holding a cane. The base features the printed name WINSTON CHURCHILL in black capitals. Below this is a circular factory mark for Royal Doulton, Made in England, featuring a lion standing atop a crown over a circular emblem with four interlocking D characters. This mark was utilised by the factory from approximately 1932 onwards. A small, hand-painted black circular dot is positioned to the right of the factory mark.
