A collection of vintage Sawyer’s stereoscopic equipment, featuring a Model C View-Master and multiple image reel sets. The viewer is constructed from black Bakelite with a side-mounted metal lever mechanism for rotating internal image reels. The collection is presented in a vintage, non-original wooden storage chest with a red velvet-lined interior lid, metal hinges, and a brass escutcheon. The viewer body is embossed with the following markings: Sawyer’s, VIEW-MASTER, REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. U.S. PAT. 2,189,285, CAN. PAT. 408,893 BRIT. PAT. 538,492, OTHER PAT. PEND. MADE IN U.S.A., PORTLAND – ORE. Included reel titles encompass Grand Canyon I, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, 975 Tarzan Rescues Cheta, 126 Yellowstone National Park, California, and Disneyland Adventure. Several packets specify 7 Three-Dimensional Pictures in Full-Colour Kodachrome. A green promotional sleeve is also present, titled Build a Complete Library View-Master Stereoscopic Pictures. The stereoscope mechanism utilises twin eyepieces to provide a three-dimensional viewing experience of the circular cardboard reels.
