A pair of glazed ceramic figurines depicting Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, a central character from the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West. Each figure is modelled in a dynamic standing pose atop a stylized white cloud base accented with blue scrollwork. The characters are portrayed with expressive simian features, wearing dark caps with a central red mark, blue cowls or scarves over mustard-yellow robes, white trousers, and black boots. Each figure holds a peach of immortality in one hand and carries a staff (Ruyi Jingu Bang) behind the back. The figurines are finished with a high-gloss glaze featuring fine all-over crazing throughout.
