This three-piece ceramic set is produced by Royal Creamware as part of their Originals range, replicating traditional 18th-century English creamware designs. The set consists of an oval basket-form tureen, a matching pierced cover, and a coordinating oval underplate. The body of the basket, the border of the underplate, and the lid feature intricate reticulated or pierced lattice-work decoration. The basket is fitted with twin twin-strand rope-twist handles, a motif echoed in the moulded borders. The lid is surmounted by a moulded finial in the form of a fruit, likely a pomegranate or pineapple, emerging from leafage. The glaze is a uniform glossy cream colour throughout. The base of the underplate bears a black printed maker’s mark featuring a crown symbol, curved banners reading ROYAL CREAMWARE and Originals, and central text stating Fine China, Est. 1760, and Made in England.
