An oval-shaped metal serving tray, likely constructed of lacquered or painted steel, featuring branding for the London and North Eastern Railway (L.N.E.R.). The tray is designed with a black central field and a black outer rim, separated by a broad gold-toned border. Centred on the upper portion of the gold border, the tray is marked with the letters L.N.E.R. separated by periods. Two thin tan-coloured pinstripes frame the interior and exterior of the gold border. This item was manufactured for use in railway catering services, dating between 1923 and 1948. A small white rectangular sticker with the number 5046 is present in the centre.
