Two antique wall-mounted sconces of mismatched design, originally manufactured as gas-lighting fixtures. The first sconce features a curved swan-neck arm constructed from a patinated brass alloy, terminating in a lobed, cased glass shade with a mottled white and amber tortoiseshell effect. The second sconce has a straight horizontal arm supporting a bell-shaped white opal glass shade decorated with a transfer-printed polychrome band of floral sprigs and swags in rust-red and green tones. Both fixtures incorporate circular wall-mounting plates with integrated thumb-turn valves. The floral shade is held by a metal gallery with three tightening screws. Surface oxidation is present on all metal components, and no manufacturer marks are legible. These units are currently un-wired.
