A group of two decorative boxes dating to the mid-20th century. The first is a Sorrento-style wood box constructed with intricate marquetry inlay featuring scrolling foliate motifs and stylized birds to the lid and sides. The hinged lid opens to reveal an internal tiered wooden rack mechanism designed for dispensing cigarettes. The second item is a rectangular box finished in a black high-gloss lacquer, featuring an inset print of a classical floral still life painting on the lid. The interior is lined with red velvet.
