A trio of original graphite drawings on wove paper by E.H. Shepard, depicting iconic characters and scenes from A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh series. The first drawing features Christopher Robin, Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore pulling a rope with Tigger leaping mid-air; it is signed lower right: E.H.Shepard and bears the inscriptions Ch IV p. 71, an encircled 8, and the caption Come on Tigger it’s easy. The second drawing depicts Pooh and Piglet on a wooden structure, signed upper right: E.H.Shepard, with a faint, partially legible inscription at the lower left reading House at P… The third drawing illustrates Christopher Robin in a bathtub with a mat, signed upper right: E.H.Shepard, and includes the hand-written text BATH MAT. The sketches are rendered in the artist’s characteristic lively and expressive graphite line. Two works are housed in matching dark wood frames with gilt inner lips and blue-over-pink double mounts, while the third is in a lighter natural wood frame with a brown mount. All three are glazed.
